Books
I’m not sure what inspired me to do it, but now, on top of my music catalog, I also have a book catalog. The latter is quite a bit larger than the former, but not as large as I had thought. Somehow Thomas Jefferson amassed 10,000 books during his lifetime; they went on to form the basis of the Library of Congress. I have just over 300, and I’ve already lived at least 1/4 of Jefferson’s life. Did he read fast? Did he read all the time? Did he buy a lot of books that he didn’t read? I doubt I’ll have read 10,000 by the time I die, which makes me admire Jefferson all the more.
