One of the things about Andy Rooney that I can never stand is his voice. His writing, however, is pretty good and to-the-point.

Recently the Haverhill Library had an old books sale, you know, one of those fill a bag with books for 2 bucks deals, and I picked up a couple of his older books. They actually made some fascinating reading, as one was from the Reagan era, and the other was toward the beginning of the Clinton years. He's no Oscar Wilde, but he's engaging and makes his views at least interesting to read, with some humor thrown in too.

You just need to get past his voice.
